i'm a huge fan of sliding doors.
it just makes sense to me.
not only do they open a space up, it can act as a divider, architectural element or even as simple eye candy. i love how practical they are. i wish i had sliding doors in all my doorways. doors to me make no sense at all unless it's an exterior door.

My all time dream is to have a sliding door on a rail similar to first two pictures. I never had the right space to make them work into m design. Maybe one day.
btw, your header illustrator is gorgeous.
GReat post Jen! I totally agree about sliding doors - they're definitely underrated. They're visually appealing and they save so much room!
Jen! I look forward to hearing about your valentines :-)> get onto that "lull" asap as when the cherubs come!! its even more different
I'm with you on this one Kim! :)
And thanks ... ^^
Nice blog! Love your header, so colourful.
Hi Jenn
I love your new blog! I have had that first picture in my inspiration file for awhile now. And I have actually researched the hardward for use in a project. I love the idea of sliding doors instead of by-pass doors. They are harder to detail correctly, but definitely worth it.
these are so stylish and would be cool if i could afford them! hehe

Patricia, thanks for dropping by:)
Yes that first image is one of my favorites, I love the idea of sliding doors. I don't know how it is in Van City but in Toronto more and more condos are incorporating slidings doors instead of swinging doors.
Jen, I agree! They do get quite expensive but I've seen some really great sliding doors made of the most unusual things :)
