happy new year everyone!
welcome to my new blog - stylings, findings and thoughts on design, photography and art. this will be my main blog from this point on. a work in progress still, so please bare with me and stay tuned.
i hope you all brought in 2008 with a smile on your face and great plans for the new year!
i'm hoping this year will be better for me. last year was probably one of the worst years i've had in all my 28 years on this earth so i'm praying, dreaming, and hoping for bigger and better things to arrive this time around. so far things are looking hopeful. i'm starting a new project next week and am working on launching my website and new portfolio in the next couple months.
always the busy bee! so tonight i was working on a few rough concept ideas for a client's dining room when i came across this photo on Tom Scheerer's website and instantly a fell in love. needless to say, it put a smile on my face!
the combination of traditional classic furnishings in a plain neutral toned room really acts as the background to what my eyes naturally drew attention too - the hilariously brilliant and smile provoking art work on the wall by the window. keeping very much to the symmetric style of the space, the pieces of art bring character, life and a punch of pazzaz into an otherwise quite monotoned space. i love it. my client is a very professional single woman with 2 hilariously awesome boys both under the age of 10. she is also a fan of art and so i wanted to do something like this for her incorporating fun images of her boys in otherwise boring quite monotoned spaces.
